So here I was, tent camping in the city park in Lyons, Colorado, and saw these two "campers" as I headed out on the last day. You'd think thet the one on the left was produced by a society of elves or "pygmys".....or.....that the one on the right came from a culture of supersized (bariatric?) people...
How have we become convinced that we "need" this much STUFF to go "camping"??
--or simply to leave home? The resources in these two vehicles came from the Earth. This insatiable appetite for newer and bigger contrivances is what's "fueling" the market for more oil, more coal, more uranium, more iron....
... more PVCs, more CO2, more heavy metals in the water supply, more sulfur dioxide, more stuff in landfills.....
... and less clean air, clean water, pristine forests, and species diversity for our children.
